2015 Ram Chassis Cab maintenance schedule

The factory schedule for normal driving. Oil changes follow the oil-change indicator on most models; severe use (towing, dusty roads, lots of idling) shortens some intervals.

A dot means the service is due at that mileage or after that many years, whichever comes first. Engines: see schedule title.

Additional Inspections
Inspect the CV/Universal joints.
Inspect front suspension, tie rod ends, and replace if necessary.
Inspect the front and rear axle surfaces. If gear oil leakage is suspected, check the fluid level. If using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing, change axle fluid.
Inspect the brake linings, parking brake function.
Additional Maintenance
Replace engine air filter.
Replace spark plugs. **
Flush and replace the engine coolant at 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km) whichever comes first.
Change the automatic transmission fluid (AS66RC Transmission Only).
Change the automatic transmission fluid and sump filter (AS66RC Transmission Only).
Change the automatic transmission fluid and filter(s) (66RFE Transmission Only), if using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet, or frequent trailer towing.
Change the automatic transmission fluid and filter(s) (66RFE transmission).
Inspect the transfer case fluid, change for any of the following: police, taxi, fleet, or frequent trailer towing.
Change the transfer case fluid.
Inspect and replace PCV valve if necessary.

Once a month or before a long trip

  • Check engine oil level
  • Check windshield washer fluid level
  • Check the tire inflation pressures and look for unusual wear or damage
  • Check the fluid levels of the coolant reservoir, brake master cylinder, power steering and automatic transmission and fill as needed.
  • Check function of all interior and exterior lights

At every oil change interval as indicated by the oil change indicator system

  • Change oil and filter.
  • Rotate the tires. Rotate at the first sign of irregular wear, even if it occurs before the oil indicator system turns on.
  • Inspect battery and clean and tighten terminals as required.
  • Inspect automatic transmission fluid if equipped with dipstick.
  • Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, hoses and park brake.
  • Inspect engine cooling system protection and hoses.
  • Inspect exhaust system.
  • Inspect engine air cleaner if using in dusty or off-road conditions.
  • Lube the front drive shaft fitting.

Gasoline engines: oil change limit

  • Oil change interval never exceeds 8,000 miles (13,000 km), 12 months or 350 engine hours, whichever comes first.
  • Severe duty (dusty/off-road or mostly idle/low rpm): change oil every 4,000 miles (6,500 km).
