The Dodge Durango is a midsize three-row SUV that uses a V8 in every 2027 trim; the V6 is no longer offered. The Midwest take
The Durango is the three-row SUV for people who tow and want a V8 to be the default. For 2027 Stellantis lists all-wheel drive as standard on every trim, with HEMI V8 power from the 360-hp GT AWD HEMI V8 up through the 475-hp R/T 392 and the 710-hp SRT Hellcat. It seats five to seven depending on trim, and the GT AWD HEMI V8 tows 7,200 pounds, or 8,700 with the Tow 'n Go package, enough for a pontoon or a mid-size camper. Behind the third row there are 17.2 cubic feet of cargo space, so it handles kids and gear better than adults on a road trip. Fuel economy is thirsty (14/22 mpg on the GT AWD HEMI V8), and the 392 and Hellcat want premium. It is built at the Detroit Assembly Complex, Jefferson plant.
The GT AWD HEMI V8 trims use a 5.7-liter V8 with 360 horsepower. Above them, the R/T 392 trims get a 6.4-liter V8 with 475 horsepower and the SRT Hellcat gets a supercharged 6.2-liter with 710. All use an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
The GT AWD HEMI V8 trims tow 7,200 pounds as standard, and the Tow 'n Go package, the R/T 392 trims or the SRT Hellcat raise that to 8,700 pounds. Dodge calls that figure best in class for a three-row SUV.
Most trims seat seven, with a second-row bench or optional captain's chairs. The SRT Hellcat is a five-seater as standard, and a six-passenger layout is available on some trims. Cargo space measures 17.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 43.3 behind the second and 85.1 with both folded.
Dodge quotes 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds for the GT AWD HEMI V8, 4.4 seconds for the R/T 392, and 3.5 seconds for the SRT Hellcat. The R/T 392 and Hellcat add Brembo brakes and adaptive Bilstein suspension.
The Hellcat Jailbreak package opens up seven wheel choices, seven colors, five seat colors and several badge and caliper finishes. Lower trims can add stripe kits, Blacktop packages and the new Brass Monkey wheels.
Every Durango sends power to all four wheels. The GT AWD HEMI V8 trims offer Auto, Sport, Tow and Snow drive modes, while the R/T 392 and Hellcat add Track and Custom modes and a performance-tuned AWD system.
